About Us

Bradford Disability Football Club


Bradford Disability Football club (BDFC) provide access to football for anyone of any age, both male and female, with any disability whether it be learning or physical.   Formed in 2002 the club originally consisted of just 8 players, now at the start of 2017 there are c. 175 registered players at the club.  

The club has a wealth of provision available to it’s members and their families, from training to social activities there is something to ensure all needs are catered for within all age groups and disabilities.  We provide opportunities for the disabled community to develop:-

> social skills and build new friendships/relationships
> personal responsibility and self awareness
> physical skills
> communication skills
> self confidence and aspirations for the future
> independence

Training Sessions

The core of the service to its’ members are the training sessions and these are the basis for all other activities within the club.   All training sessions are coached by fully FA qualified trainers.  We provide opportunities for our players to experience football within their community, nationwide and internationally.  We are included on the disability football directory and through this we participate in tournaments with other disability football clubs nationwide.

West Riding Ability Counts League

The West Riding Ability Counts League offers the disability clubs across the county a regular, structured, competitive opportunity. The League is a Pan-Disability league and runs Championship, League 1, League 2 & League 3 competitions.  BDFC competes in each of the leagues alongside other disability clubs in the region such as Leeds Utd, Pontefract Pirates, Harrogate and Yorkshire CP team.  

We hold an annual disability tournament in Bradford which we started in 2016.  Email for dates and full details about our tournament.

There are also, nationally a number of teams with whom we arrange tournaments and festivals and BDFC have played both junior and senior teams against premiership, championship and league 1 teams including Chelsea, Everton, Manchester Utd and Tranmere Rovers.   

Additionally we participate in tournaments all over the UK, Ireland and internationally in Holland and Germany.
